My visiting mom recently dropped my french press and the spout broke. I really loved the metal case so I looked for a replacement carafe. I was thrilled to see that Amazon carried them. I panicked a bit when I saw the mixed reviews, but then I read them and realized the poor reviews were actually poor reviewers. The carafe is a good product - it is strong and fit my press perfectly. The bad reviews are from people who are mad that they didn't understand the french press cup system, and rather than admit they ordered the wrong item they leave a bad review for a perfectly good item.
This replacement was identical to the glass I broke. As long as you know which size your french press was originally, then these glasses work great. It's important to note that 3 cups in a french press does NOT equal 3 cups in a measuring cup. Find your original box / receipt and find out which size it actually is. It does not correspond to any sort of fluid measurement.
